The White House has announced that Donald Trump will travel to Dallas tomorrow to participate in a roundtable event with faith leaders, small business owners and law enforcement. The purpose is to “discuss solutions to historic economic, health, and justice disparities in American communities,” according to a White House release.

According to the Dallas Morning News, Trump will announce a plan for “holistic revitalization and recovery” at a TBA church with TBA guests. If it seems hastily arranged, well, it is.

So what’s really going on here?

Trump is going to Dallas to raise money for himself. After the church event, Trump will travel to an undisclosed home where he will attend a fundraiser. The price of admission is $580,600 per couple.

For that price, the News writes, two people can dine with the president and get their picture taken with him, according to an invitation obtained by the newspaper. Guests will also be tested for coronavirus. The cost of the test is being picked up by the GOP.

Some couples will pay twice as much. Under current campaign rules, any individual can give up to $580,600 to Trump Victory, a partnership between the reelection campaign, the Republican National Committee and 22 state parties.

Trump will leave Dallas with $10 million in his pocket.

Polls show a very tight race in Texas between Trump and Joe Biden. The GOP hasn’t lost a presidential contest in Texas since 1976.
