Trump Bombast Has Turned Into Real Bombs

Welcome

Donald Trump is single-handedly trying to destroy one of the most important institutions of democracy because it criticizes him. In the process, he is destroying democracy itself. He is chipping away at it little by little or big lie, by big lie. This morning tweeting one of the most egregious things of his Presidency (and we know that is saying a lot). While yesterday he was subtle in blaming the media for the bombs delivered to several prominent people and places. Today there is nothing subtle about this message.

Trump isn’t even blaming the serial bomber. Nope, just the media, all their fault. It’s an outlandish statement that is so false and so divisive.

Dan Rather says:

“We have so many REAL problems facing this country and this world. Imagine if we had a president who calmed fear instead of stoking it.”

Sadly Trump just continues to add fuel to the fire. Let’s be clear there is one thing the targets of this serial bomber have in common. They have all been verbally blasted repeatedly by Trump. The media is not the common thread, not even close.

Let’s also be clear that this morning tweet is aimed at one of the victims, CNN. They are a news organization that is fact-based, not fake.

One of the other victims is responding to Trump’s tweet saying:

As we read Trump’s words this AM we also wonder where are the statements from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell or Speaker of the House Paul Ryan. Where are Trump’s supporters who last night were chanting “CNN sucks,” where is this country’s dignity? Luckily no one was hurt (so far), but with such hateful words continuing to be spewed by the President we are worried about what happens next.
