As he departed the White House this morning, Donald Trump told reporters he was considering a “short-term, two week” quarantine for New York, New Jersey and parts of Connecticut. Although he said he spoke with the affected governors, New York’s Mario Cuomo said he didn’t know about it, and didn’t like it.

Cuomo also told reporters he didn’t know how it would be legally enforceable. The Wall Street Journal writes:

The president didn’t specify what a quarantine would entail, but said it could include restrictions on travel from New York and New Jersey. New York City alone has more than 23,000 cases, nearly a quarter of all the cases in the country.

No word on how the White House could enforce a quarantine in three states that cover thousands of square miles with hundreds of access points.
