Trailing badly in almost every poll, Donald Trump decided on Wednesday night it was time for a campaign shakeup. Campaign manager Brad Parscale has been demoted. The New York Times writes:
“Mr. Parscale, who was named campaign manager unusually early, in February 2018, will step out of the job and Bill Stepien, currently the deputy campaign manager and a veteran political operative, will take over. Mr. Parscale will stay on with the campaign, becoming a senior adviser for data and digital operations.”
With less than four months until the election, the move is an acknowledgement that all is not well within the Trump campaign.
The announcement also comes on the same day that two national polls show Trump trailing presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden by double digits.
Parscale has been the target of criticism from Trump supporters who see the chances of Donald Trump being reelected fading every day. Parscale was ridiculed by a group of anti-Trump Republicans for his lavish lifestyle.
