In the middle of his coronavirus news conference on Monday, Donald Trump was taken by Secret Service from the briefing room. When he returned minutes later he said officers had shot someone outside the White House.

Trump thanked the Secret Service but had no more details about the incident. There are reports the victim was armed. This is a breaking story and will be updated.
