John Dowd, Donald Trump’s lead attorney for the special counsel investigation has resigned.  Dowd quit because, according to The New York Times, “Mr. Trump was increasingly ignoring his advice, one person briefed on the matter said. Mr. Trump has insisted he should sit for an interview with the special counsel’s office, even though Mr. Dowd believed it was a bad idea.”

Trump recently added longtime Washington lawyer and former U.S. attorney Joseph diGenova to his team.

According to Axios: Dowd spent last weekend personally attacking Mueller — going so far as to encourage an end to his investigation. He later told Axios’ Mike Allen that his statement was “nothing against Bob,” adding, “On St. Patrick’s Day, can’t an old Marine make a prayer? No big deal.”

Earlier this month, Trump tweeted he was VERY happy with his lawyers.

Dowd tells CNN: “I love the president and wish him well.”
