A dramatic day of testimony in the Harvey Weinstein trial as former Sopranos actress Annabella Sciorra told a jury that the former movie mogul raped her around 25 years ago. She testified about a night Weinstein barged into her apartment.

Here’s some of her testimony as transcribed by Vulture:

“He started to unbutton his shirt. He thought we were going to be having sex. I realized that if he was taking off his shirt that in his head, he wanted to have sex, and I did not want to.”

“It was just not going to happen… I was not having sex with him.”

“He shoved me onto the bed. As I was trying to get him off of me, I was punching him, I was kicking him.”

“I was just trying to get him away from me, and he took my hands and put them over my head.”

“He put his penis inside my vagina, and he had intercourse with me, as I tried to fight. But I couldn’t fight anymore because he had my hands blocked.”

The New York Times adds:

Under questioning by a prosecutor, Joan Illuzzi, Ms. Sciorra acknowledged that she never called the police, saying she was “confused.”

“He was someone I knew,” Ms. Sciorra said. “I felt at the time that rape was something that happened in a back alleyway in a dark place.”

Sciorra is one of six accusers who are expected to testify. Her case is beyond the statute of limitations, but prosecutors are hoping stories from women like her help establish a pattern of predatory behavior.

The AP writes:

The 59-year-old actress became the first of Weinstein’s accusers to testify at his trial, where the movie mogul whose downfall gave rise to the #MeToo movement is charged with forcibly performing oral sex on former “Project Runway” production assistant Mimi Haleyi in his New York apartment in 2006 and raping an aspiring actress in a hotel room here in 2013.
