So much for Melania Trump’s #BeBest campaign. Her husband is going against her advice of “positive online behavior” The BeBest website states “it is our responsibility as adults to educate and reinforce to them that when they are using their voices—whether verbally or online—they must choose their words wisely and speak with respect and compassion.” Donald Trump’s latest Twitter tirade could literally be used as an example of what not to say. In a huff over the latest “Lincoln Project” ad, the President of the United States wrote a series of tweets, including the following passage full of name-calling:
I don’t know what Kellyanne did to her deranged loser of a husband, Moonface, but it must have been really bad. John Weaver lost big for Kasich (to me). Crazed Rick Wilson….lost for Evan “McMuffin” McMullin (to me). Steve Schmidt & Reed Galvin lost for John McCain, Romney’s campaign manager (?) lost big to “O”, & Jennifer Horn got thrown out of the New Hampshire Republican Party. They’re all LOSERS, but Abe Lincoln, Republican, is all smiles!
“Crazed” ???
But which one of us was up uncontrollably rage tweeting at 1 in the morning?

Trump is attacking his conservative opposition because he knows we already have the votes to beat him in swing states in November.

Still waiting for him to mention me by name. I already have some nicknames for myself. https://t.co/qdvJPjAj2Q

Congratulations to my friends at @ProjectLincoln for provoking this 1:00 am Trump tweet storm! The thought of Trump up late, stewing about their ad and muttering to himself, then calling and waking a staffer to get their names and bios for his tweets, cheered me up this morning. https://t.co/eiT9TE5knP

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough remarked, “I keep waiting for the president to wake up, grow up, be responsible. He just can’t do it.” And MSNBC’s Steve Benen wrote:
If Trump thinks his little online tantrum serves his interests, he’s mistaken. For one thing, the president made himself look ridiculous by tweeting furiously in the middle of the night — not about a pandemic that’s now killed nearly 70,000 Americans, but about a web video that hurt his feelings.
Especially when you’re president of the United States during a raging pandemic that’s killing Americans by the thousands. https://t.co/ysutZDb5Kj

Meanwhile, what Trump may not have thought of while firing off his tweets, is that because of the attention he brought to the video, millions of more people may have seen it, including members of his base.
And you just guaranteed their ad gets 10 million more views. https://t.co/cb8XTmDVjt
