There is a push to expel Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from Congress. So why is House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) rewarding her with a spot on the House Education and Labor Committee? Over the last couple of days, reports have surfaced that Greene has harassed students from Parkland High School after the massacre there, and social media posts also came to light where she showed support for executing Democratic politicians including Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. This is on top of her already known ties to QAnon and support of various conspiracy theories.

Today, Parkland survivor David Hogg talked with CNN about this (watch above):

“Republicans always act as if they’re the party of decency and respect. But would the party of decency and respect … harass the survivors of these shootings for having different opinions than them?”

A spokesperson for Rep. McCarthy reacted to the recent news surrounding Greene saying, “These comments are deeply disturbing and Leader McCarthy plans to have a conversation with the Congresswoman about them.” But Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) had this reaction, “When I hear that Rep. McCarthy is going to pull a member aside who’s made white supremacist-sympathizing comments, I think, what is he going to tell them? Keep it up?”

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez isn’t the only speaking out against Greene, she has some Republicans agreeing with her.

Congressman Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) introduced a resolution, writing this about Greene, “Her very presence in office represents a direct threat against the elected officials and staff who serve our government, and it is with their safety in mind, as well as the security of institutions and public servants across our country, that I call on my House colleagues to support my resolution to immediately remove Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene from this legislative body.”

It sure sounds like Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi would support action against Greene as well. Here’s what she said today.

As for how Greene is reacting to all this. This about says it all. At a townhall Greene hosted last night in her district, one reporter tried to ask questions about all this and wasn’t just shut down, she was threatened with arrest.

CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski also noted this action from Greene.
