House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Thursday that the testimony from two career diplomats at Wednesday’s first open session of the impeachment inquiry “corroborated evidence of bribery” by President Trump in regard to Ukraine.
It’s the first time Pelosi has used that word — “bribery” — in comments on the inquiry.
“What President Trump has done on the record,” she said, “makes what Nixon did look almost small.” Richard Nixon resigned from the presidency in August 1974 while facing almost certain impeachment over the Watergate scandal.
