Survivor Talks About Duck Boat Accident That Killed Her Children & Husband

It’s unfathomable what happened aboard a duck boat in Branson, Missouri last week. 17 people died after the amphibious vehicle sank. The boat was raised out of the water yesterday and now begins the NTSB’s task of trying to figure out what went wrong and could it have been prevented. The Kansas City Star reports:

“Among the most critical questions: Why weren’t weather warnings heeded, who made the final call to take the boat out and why weren’t any life vests used? NTSB officials have said they want to know what information the duck boat company and captain had before someone made the decision to take the boat out when potential severe weather had been on the radar for several hours.”

These are questions Tia Coleman will probably struggle with the rest of her life. She lost nine members of her family, including her three children and husband. It is agonizing to hear her recount what happened that day.
