Harvey Weinstein’s victims and accusers are reacting to the former movie mogul’s conviction for sexual assault and rape. The common theme from the women is that you can’t downplay the significance of the guilty verdict. Attorney Gloria Allred says:

“This is a new age. It’s the legal reckoning and women refuse to be silent about injustices against them anymore.”

One of Weinstein’s accusers, actress Rosanna Arquette said, “Even though it didn’t turn out 100% in the way for all five counts. It’s still landmark that this happened, a man like Harvey Weinstein, a powerful man, is being held accountable for his behavior, his predatory behavior.”

24 hours after Weinstein was remanded into custody he is still not in jail. As he was being transferred to at Riker’s Island Monday, his attorney says he experienced high blood pressure and heart palpitations, so instead was diverted to Bellevue hospital.

Weinstein is set to be sentenced March 11th. He will then be moved to Los Angeles to stand trial there on separate charges.
