White House On Kavanaugh Accusations: Deny, Deny, Deny

Welcome

WASHINGTON, DC - JULY 09: U.S. President Donald Trump introduces U.S. Circuit Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh as his nominee to the United States Supreme Court during an event in the East Room of the White House July 9, 2018 in Washington, DC. Pending confirmation by the U.S. Senate, Judge Kavanaugh would succeed Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy, 81, who is retiring after 30 years of service on the high court. The White House is making it clear today, to them Thursday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing with Christine Blasey Ford doesn’t matter because Donald Trump has declared the allegations at Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh false.

This morning Sarah Sanders spoke with George Stephanopolous to continue that narrative. Here’s part of the exchange:

GS: Why does he think Ms. Ramirez and Dr. Ford are lying.

SS: He said these individuals should be heard.

GS: He called them false already before they were heard.

SS: Kavanaugh has been unequivocal in his denial. He knows Brett Kavanaugh. He spent a great deal of time with him and trusts him and Brett Kavanaugh has asked for his voice to be heard in this process.

Stephanopolous asked Sanders why Trump always believes the accuser and never the accused.

GS: Every single time the president has taken the side of the man against women accusers.

SS: That’s not true. In this case the president knows Brett Kavanaugh. He’s heard his story. There hasn’t been a shred of evidence to corroborate the other individual stories.

This follows Kavanaugh’s interview Monday with Fox News, an interview in which he claimed he was a virgin for “many years after” college. Michael Avenatti (best known as Stormy Daniels’ attorney) says he has clients/witnesses who will dispute this and that they will be revealed by tomorrow night.
