It seems like the number of Republicans campaigning against Donald Trump is growing. A new organization called “Republican Voters Against Trump” bills itself as “A coalition of Republicans, former Republicans, conservatives, and former Trump voters who can’t support Trump for president this fall.”

Their website declared, “I’d vote for a tuna fish sandwich before I’d vote for Donald Trump again.”

The New York Times reports:

The new group is set to begin a $10 million digital and television advertising campaign that will use personal stories of conservative voters giving voice to their deep — and sometimes brand-new — dissatisfaction with the president.

The ads are reportedly zeroing in on voters in swing states, such as Florida, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Arizona, and North Carolina.

Their first TV ad, airing now, is a powerful look at the “carnage” during Trump’s first three years in office. And Trump himself may see it because it’s airing on Fox News.

The Times says:

The new initiative is the brainchild of Ms. Longwell; Bill Kristol, the conservative writer; and Tim Miller, a former top aide to former Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida. Together, Ms. Longwell and Mr. Kristol have also worked on an initiative called Republicans for the Rule of Law, which has begun its own ad blitz against Mr. Trump.

Sarah Longwell, a Republican consultant who is the executive director of Defending Democracy Together, the nonprofit behind the effort. She told CNN, “People need to see other people like themselves.”

That campaign helped the group find like-minded Republicans, conservatives and moderates who oppose Trump but have not been traditional Democratic voters. Longwell said the new project’s goal is to highlight these people for other voters who may be on the fence about supporting Trump in 2020.
