Several GOP Senators Met With Donald Trump’s Impeachment Lawyers

Donald Trump’s impeachment attorneys met with a handful of GOP Senators (aka jurors) in the impeachment trial. The meeting happened late today after the impeachment managers rested their case.

Several GOP senators just met with Trump’s defense attorneys, including Cruz and Graham. Lee also spotted going in. Graham refused to talk about it after. “See you tomorrow,” he told me. Schoen told us there’s nothing inappropriate about meeting with jurors in impeachment trial

The Senators weren’t even trying to cover-up the meeting. Instead, Senator Ted Cruz told reporters, “We were discussing their strategy for tomorrow and we were sharing our thoughts, in terms of where the argument was and where to go.”

Senate jurors are now part of the defense team. Cruz and Graham both have law degrees—they know this is both unethical and a violation of the oath they took just days ago to be impartial. Even for the GOP, this is a sickening perversion of our system. https://t.co/9kLJ8ine3G
