Prince Philip, husband of Queen Elizabeth II, will be laid to rest next Saturday. He was 99 when he passed away yesterday.

His death has brought the British Royal Family together – although not all of them.

Prince Harry, Philip’s youngest grandson, will attend the funeral in St. George’s Chapel, which is restricted in size because of Covid-19 safety protocols. His wife, Meghan Markle, will skip the event. She’s pregnant and has reportedly not received medical clearance from her doctor.

Harry and Meghan have been living in self-imposed exile in California. They say his family treated Markle, who is biracial, with hostility and racism. In a highly-publicized interview with Oprah Winfrey last month, Markle said she felt so outcast, that she contemplated suicide. She said the royal family dabbled in “outdated, colonial undertones.”

The couple has renounced their royal affiliation. Harry has not returned to the UK in over a year.
