The First Lady always brings a special guest (or several) to sit with her at the State of the Union. It’s only fitting Melania Trump would bring someone who aligns with her “Be Best” campaign. But the child she picked is raising eyebrows. The White House writes:

“Joshua Trump is a 6th grade student in Wilmington, Delaware…(he) has been bullied in school due to his last name. He is thankful to the First Lady and the Trump family for their support.”

From Politico:
“Of course, this is sad, and bullying is awful. But, again, it’s a bit rich for the Trump White House to make bullying its issue du jour. Cryin’ Chuck, Crooked Hillary, Da Nang Dick, Pocahontas, Lyin’ Ted anyone?”

Thousands of kids bullied every year.
For being disabled.
For being LGBTQ+.
For being a different race.
I feel AWFUL for Joshua Trump, and he deserves NO AMOUNT of bullying, but it says a lot that he is the one kid Donald and Melania want to highlight as a bullying victim.

Feel bad for this Joshua Trump kid who got invited to the SOTU because he gets bullied due to his name, but it’s pathetic that the one time Trump (the biggest bully out there) cares about bullying it’s only because his last name is involved.
