One of the few remaining original members of Donald Trump’s administration is leaving her job. Sarah Sanders is stepping down as Press Secretary. Donald Trump tweeted:

After 3 1/2 years, our wonderful Sarah Huckabee Sanders will be leaving the White House at the end of the month and going home to the Great State of Arkansas… She is a very special person with extraordinary talents, who has done an incredible job! I hope she decides to run for Governor of Arkansas – she would be fantastic. Sarah, thank you for a job well done!

Trump is actually wrong. Sanders has been with the White House for 2 1/2 years. The same amount of time he’s been on the job. After the inauguration, she started as Deputy Press Secretary before getting promoted in July of that year to her current post.

Sanders hasn’t held a press briefing in three months. Her tenure has been marked with issues. Most recently the public lost confidence in her after the Mueller report confirmed she lied.

The list of high-profile departures from the Trump administration is very long. Axios has the complete list here.

As for Sanders, she could be running for office in her native Arkansas.

As for jobs as a TV analyst, perhaps Fox, but not CNN.
