Former NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. was involved in a plane crash along with his wife, one-year-old daughter and two pilots in Tennessee. No one was seriously injured in the accident, but Earnhardt is being treated at the Johnson City Medical Center for minor cuts and abrasions. The plane is a total loss.

There’s no word on what caused the incident.

The Cessna Citation rolled off the end of a runway after landing at Elizabethton Municipal Airport in Elizabethton [Tennessee], about 65 miles north of Asheville, [North Carolina]. Officials with the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will investigate.

Earnhardt is a household name in the NASCAR world. A third generation race car driver, he has won the Daytona 500 race twice and the Most Popular Driver award fifteen times, earning him the nickname the Pied Piper of Daytona.
