The gloves are off. Anthony Scaramucci, a longtime defender of Donald Trump is now one of his biggest critics. In the last few days Scaramucci has said the following about his former boss:

  • Trump isn’t racist. He’s worse.
  • He is so narcissistic.
  • I think the guy is losing it, mentally.
  • Our Bully in Chief has given license to anger and the expression of hate.
  • He doesn’t have any real friends.
  • He forces his advisors to lie to embarrass them and test their loyalty.

Today, on CNN’s New Day the former White House communications manager said:

“I’m in the process of putting together a team of people that feel the exact same way that I do. This is not a ‘Never Trump’ situation. This not just screeching rhetoric. This is — OK, the guy is unstable. Everyone inside knows it, everyone outside knows it. Let’s see if we can find a viable alternative.”

“Moreover, I have to get some former Cabinet officials in unity to speak up about it. They know it’s a crisis.”

Scaramucci is even going further than some of Trump’s most outspoken critics, saying that he thinks Trump won’t actually be on the ballot next year, “He’ll likely drop out by March of 2020.”

And it seemed Trump was watching. Just minutes after the interview aired, the president tweeted:

Anthony Scaramucci is a highly unstable “nut job” who was with other candidates in the primary who got shellacked, & then unfortunately wheedled his way into my campaign. I barely knew him until his 11 days of gross incompetence-made a fool of himself, bad on TV. Abused staff,… got fired. Wrote a very nice book about me just recently. Now the book is a lie? Said his wife was driving him crazy, “something big” was happening with her. Getting divorced. He was a mental wreck. We didn’t want him around. Now Fake News puts him on like he was my buddy!

As for barely knowing him, there are reports that Trump and Scaramucci go back 22 years.

And then there’s this…
