Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has written a last-minute mini mea-culpa on his over the top performance last week. This is just bizarre, folks. After calling his experience an “orchestrated political hit” fueled by anti-Trump, pro-Clinton forces, he writes in the Wall Street Journal: “The Supreme Court must never be viewed as a partisan institution.” We can only assume it’s meant to seal the deal with the few Senators who may still be on the fence. The title of the oped is a tough sell after last week: “I Am an Independent, Impartial Judge.” The main point seems to be that he let his emotions get the best of him.
It reads, “Yes, I was emotional last Thursday. I hope everyone can understand I was there as a son, husband and dad.”

He closes by saying:
“I revere the Constitution. I believe that an independent and impartial judiciary is essential to our constitutional republic. If confirmed by the Senate to serve on the Supreme Court, I will keep an open mind in every case and always strive to preserve the Constitution of the United States and the American rule of law.”
Brett Kavanaugh's WSJ Op-ed contains what should be his own undoing.
He defines the test:
"a judge must be independent"
"The Supreme Court must never be viewed as a partisan institution."He failed that test before the entire world in his pre-written and oral testimony. pic.twitter.com/juVjLZ7ZFR
