Congress returned to work today from one of its many recesses and the talk is already about what won’t happen.  All the fire and fury, the rallies, protests, candles, vigils, memorials and funerals didn’t change one thing.  There seems to be zero motivation for anything happening in the Senate or the House related to guns.

From CNN:

“Republican sources with direct knowledge of the current state of play express significant skepticism of anything major happening legislatively. At most, they expect some push for the “Fix NICS” (short for National Instant Criminal Background Check System) bill sponsored by Sens. John Cornyn, R-Texas, and Chris Murphy, D-Connecticut, combined with some type of financial package. Even that, they acknowledge, may be a bridge too far.”
So, sorry about that kids.  Maybe next time.  Sure, Donald Trump could demand legislation be presented, but it’s odds against.  The ball is your court.
