There’s been a Covid-19 outbreak at a school attended by two of Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett’s children, reports the New York Times.

Trinity School at Greenlawn is a small, private Christian academy in South Bend, IN. Its head, John Lee, informed parents on Thursday that a high school teacher and two students — not Barrett’s — had tested positive for the coronavirus.

News of the outbreak “is likely to intensify scrutiny” of the Sept. 26 White House event announcing Judge Barrett’s nomination to the high court. That gathering, attended by more than 200 people, has been linked to nearly 30 Covid cases — apparently including President Trump and the First Lady, as well as a number of top administration officials.

The Barrett children were there, and were not wearing masks, even when they met Trump in the Oval Office. There’s no word on whether any of Barrett’s seven children was infected. Barrett herself had Covid-19 earlier this year, and recovered.

“Parents [of Trinity students] expressed concern that the outbreak might have been tied to the Rose Garden event,” the Times says. “One parent, who asked not to be identified, said at least one of the Barrett children attended classes in person the following week, even though the school offers an online learning option.”
