Donald Trump apparently thinks he sets the rules for the debates. This comes a day after The Commission on Presidential Debates said they are “carefully considering the changes that it will adopt and will announce those measures shortly” to “ensure a more orderly discussion.” While the commission didn’t say it, they are clearly referring to the president repeatedly breaking the rules during the first debate, going over his time, and continuously interrupting Joe Biden. But it looks like no rules (or rule changes) will satisfy Trump.
Trump, of course, didn’t easily win, most polls and experts say Biden came out on top.
That aside, questions now remain over whether a second debate will happen. Biden has said he will come back for all debates, but Trump’s tweet seems to leave some doubt as to whether he will return. As does this comment from White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany.
Biden’s campaign issued this response late Thursday.
