Well, that didn’t take long. But it shouldn’t come as a surprise to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-GA).

A group of House Democrats introduced a resolution Monday to oust Greene from her two House committee assignments, reports NBC News.

It will be up for a vote on Wednesday, unless the Republican leadership joins in stripping the freshman Congresswoman from the House Budget Committee and the Education and Labor Committee.

Greene “should not be permitted to participate in the important work of these two influential committees. If she had honor, of course, she would resign,” said Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) said of the resolution.

Many Democrats would like to oust Greene from Congress completely, but that would require about 70 Republicans to join in, which is highly unlikely.

These people are completely unmoored and really have become the face of the Republican Party,” Mark Longabaugh, a veteran Democratic operative, told The Hill, adding that It will be a problem for Republicans” seeking election in 2022 and ’24.

In her few days in Congress, and in years earlier, Greene  has made many outlandish claims, some growing out of her belief in the QAnon conspiracy theory that Democrats are Satan-worshipping pedophiles.

She has questioned the Sandy Hook and Las Vegas shooting massacres; supported violence against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats and promoted the anti-Semitic notion that the wealthy Jewish Rothschild family started the worst of the California wildfires by firing a powerful laser at the state from outer space.

She has also claimed that the school shooting almost two years ago in Parkland FL was somehow staged, but in an interview on the right-wing One America News Network on Monday, she acknowledged that the 2018 attack that killed 17 people was real.
