Chef Jose Andres has been helping feed disaster victims for the last few years through his organization, World Central Kitchen. This week his team headed to Colombia to try to get food to the Venezuelan border. Food and water are scarce in Venezuela as the humanitarian crisis grows. On Friday conditions deteriorated further as President Nicolás Maduro attempted to partially close the border with Colombia to stop aid from being delivered. Chef Andres’ team tried not to let that stop them. But as their crews pushed forward with their plan, things turned dangerous. Here is a timeline of their last 24 hours in Colombia.
