Donald Trump is at it again today, lying about the separation of children and their families at the border.

Trump can play the blame game, but in the end, he has no one to blame but himself. Let’s make it very clear, this is a policy created by the Trump administration and no one else.

CBS reports:

“…on Friday, President Trump insisted he’s not the one separating families.

‘The Democrats forced that law upon our nation. I hate it,’ he said.

The fact that there is no such law did not stop the president from repeating his assertion half a dozen times.”

Sure we know that Trump’s lies, but most of his lies don’t get the kind of blowback that this one has.

The Washington Post reports:

“The pictures and descriptions of terrified children and anguished parents have produced a rising backlash, to which the president, the attorney general and other officials have responded by essentially arguing that they have almost nothing to do with their own policy.”

The Daily News editorial board puts it even more bluntly:

“The only thing worse than the nauseating cruelty of President Trump’s immigration policy — captured perfectly by the agonizing stories of young children forcefully being separated from their parents at the border — is the craven dishonesty with which he attempts to sell it to the American people.”

And Trump’s enablers in Congress are doing their usual silence routine.   No one will stand up to the president or his policy.
