In what some see as yet another sign of troubling piling up at Rudy Giuliani’s doorstep, the former mayor of New York City has just lost his communications director.
Christianné Allen has resigned her position to take a job with a startup company, according to a scoop by The Daily Beast. Allen oversaw Giuliani’s communications efforts, and was widely thought to have been the driving force behind Giuliani’s increased use of social media as well as his podcast work.
She issued a statement saying she felt “blessed” to have worked with the former prosecutor and the onetime personal attorney for former President Donald Trump.
Allen was seen as an influencer in MAGA world, having promoted Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign before Giuliani hired her in 2019, when she was still attending online classes at Liberty University.
The Daily Beast writes that she almost immediately fell into the Ukraine scandal that engulfed Giuliani and has him in legal jeopardy.
Her tenure began amid the fallout from Giuliani’s Ukraine meddling and then-President Donald Trump’s 2019 impeachment. She was later at Giuliani’s side during the Hunter Biden laptop fiasco ahead of the 2020 election, as well as during the post-election litigation and PR blitz that ultimately cost Giuliani his license to practice law in Washington, D.C., and New York.
Allen’s resignation comes at a time when legal bills are piling up for Giuliani. He reportedly has laid off other staff under mounting financial pressure. He’s also been virtually excommunicated from Mar-A-Lago and Trump’s orbit. It’s been reported that Trump has refused Giuliani’s requests to pay legal bills related to the months that he spent pushing the Big Election Lie on behalf of Trump.
Those fruitless attempts to overturn the 2020 election results already have Giuliani facing a major lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems for allegedly lying about the company’s machines.
Now he’s left to stay afloat through all these choppy waters without the PR aide who’s been by his side the past two years.
