A Grammy-nominated rapper was murdered Sunday. Nipsey Hussle was shot outside a clothing store he owned in Los Angeles. Two other men were shot as well, but are expected to be okay. The suspect hasn’t been caught yet, but police are hoping surveillance video helps them identify the gunman. The Los Angeles Time reports:
Details remain scant, but a law enforcement source with knowledge of the investigation said Hussle was shot by a young man who opened fire at close range and then ran to a waiting getaway car. Based on initial information, the shooter is probably associated with a gang, the source said.
The 33-year-old tweeted this shortly before the shooting.
Hussle was a former gang member who left that lifestyle behind and became a community activist. Ironically, Los Angeles police commissioner says he was set to meet with Hussle today to talk about preventing gang violence.
Those who knew Hussle are expressing their shock and sadness.
