He infamously wore his Team USA jacket to the insurrection. And today, three-time Olympic swimmer Klete Keller pleaded guilty to his role in the riot. The Washington Post writes:

The felony charge of obstruction of an official proceeding carries a maximum prison sentence of 20 years, though sentencing guidelines call for 21 to 27 months.

Keller, 39, entered the plea in a hearing before U.S. District Court Judge Richard J. Leon. As part of a plea agreement, Keller will cooperate with the government in additional prosecutions stemming from the attack on the Capitol in exchange for the government dropping the six additional charges against him.

CNN adds that Keller could be used as a star witness at upcoming trials of other defendants.

Keller, who is 6-foot-6, towered over the other rioters in the footage, prosecutors said during the Wednesday hearing, making it easy for investigators to trace his movements during the hour he spent inside the Capitol. At one point, Keller squared off against police, shouted about Democratic lawmakers, and shook off officers who attempted to usher him out of the building, prosecutors said during the hearing.

In the days after the riot, Keller is said to have destroyed the Team USA jacket.
