Speaker of the House has been relatively quiet lately, but today we are finally hearing him address a couple rather important issues.
On whether the President can pardon himself…
Paul Ryan on if Trump can pardon himself: “Ah, I don’t know the technical answer to that question, but I think obviously the answer is he shouldn’t, and nobody is above the law.” pic.twitter.com/hp2viCtL17

As for Trump’s made up “Spygate” (as he calls it), Politico reports:
“Speaker Paul Ryan said Wednesday that he’s seen no evidence to contradict Rep. Trey Gowdy’s recent assessment that the FBI acted responsibly when it deployed an informant to make contact with associates of President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign.”
Paul Ryan says he agrees with Trey Gowdy's debunking of #spygate: "I think the chairman's initial assessment was accurate…. I have seen no evidence to the contrary of the initial assessment that Chairman Gowdy made, but I want to make sure we run every lead." pic.twitter.com/r6gA8miZJW

So @SpeakerRyan just backed up @TGowdySC take that there was no wrongdoing by the FBI on this ridiculous “spygate” allegation.
Ryan is retiring so there’s less need to twist himself into political pretzels to placate Trump.
