Vice President Mike Pence along with a group of Senate Republicans traveled to a south Texas migrant detention facility on Friday. On that point, there is agreement. But what the traveling press pool reported versus what Pence said are very different takes.
Pence quickly made it political saying the: “The DHS facility in McAllen is a prime example of why we need to secure our borders. The facility is overcrowded and our system is overwhelmed. It is time for Democrats in Congress to step up, do their jobs, and end this crisis.”
He was also shown a hand-picked selection of migrant families who he said were well taken care of.
