For a local politician, it doesn’t get much bigger than the the president coming to town. So, it would be logical to believe the mayor of Tulsa, Oklahoma, a Republican, can’t wait for the big Donald Trump campaign rally in his town on Saturday. The mayor is expected to greet Donald Trump at the airport. As for whether he’s going to the Trump campaign event?

“I’m not going to the rally.” – Tulsa Mayor G.T. Bynum

City leaders in Tulsa have all but begged the Trump campaign to cancel, or at least postpone the rally due to concerns over the spread of coronavirus. At least 20,000 are expected to attend and thousands more could fill an overflow arena.

A Tulsa health official, Dr. Bruce Dart, has recommended that the rally be rescheduled.

“Whenever people come in from outside, there’s always the potential for a super spreading event. Of course that’s a concern,” Dart said.
