It’s hard to believe that Scott Pruitt actually believes he deserves a position higher up than his current job, but it looks like that is indeed the case. Pruitt is the subject of at least 14 different federal investigations and is in the news almost daily for ethical violations (some potentially illegal). That apparently didn’t stop him from pursuing the position of Attorney General. CNN reports:
“In an Oval Office conversation with Trump, Pruitt offered to temporarily replace Sessions for 210 days under the Vacancies Reform Act, telling the President he would return to Oklahoma afterward to run for office.”

The EPA's response to my story: “EPA will not be commenting on anonymous sources who are working to distract Americans from the Trump Administration’s accomplishments on regulatory certainty and environmental stewardship.” Attributed to "EPA spokesman." https://t.co/YqlbAJ6Y0f

The speculation over why Pruitt made this offer is running high.
Did Scott Pruitt offer to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller when he asked Trump for Jeff Sessions’ job?
He must answer.
If so, it would explain why Trump has refused to fire him even as Pruitt was caught engaging in historic levels of corruption. https://t.co/nw9HRAO73Y
