The response from almost every Republican on Capitol Hill is predictable. They are all dismissing the impeachment inquiry and don’t seem to be actually reading the real transcript of Donald Trump’s call with Ukraine’s president. Instead, they are displaying blind loyalty, even when you can tell it isn’t easy. As political commentator David Axelrod said:

Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa also brushed off Wednesday’s news.
“I’ve read the transcript in its entirety,” he said in a statement. “It shows that there was no quid pro quo. The Ukrainian President admitted problems with corruption in the country and agreed that the issue at hand warranted looking into further.”
Mitt Romney remains the lone(ly) GOP Senator expressing an iota of concern. NBC says “he found the call summary ‘troubling in the extreme, deeply troubling.'”
