Will he stay or should he go?

That’s the question Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) was pondering on Wednesday, after losing decisively to Joe Biden in Tuesday’s three Democratic primaries.

“In an email to supporters, Sanders campaign manager Faiz Shakir said there was ‘no sugarcoating’ the results and that Sanders planned to head back to his home state of Vermont after a Senate vote Wednesday,” reports the Washington Post. “The email did not include a solicitation for campaign donations.”

Axios noted that Sanders’ campaign currently has no active advertising on Facebook.

“A pause in digital advertising spend on Facebook has been a good indicator that candidates are dropping out of the 2020 race before,” Axios says. “Pete Buttigieg and Michael Bloomberg made their Facebook ads inactive hours before they suspended their campaigns.”

However, Sanders communications director Mike Casca strongly denied a report that the candidate was following that lead.

He’s not suspending,” Casca said on Wednesday, standing by an earlier statement that Sanders would talk with supporters to assess the future of his campaign.

Biden’s big victories in Florida, Illinois and Arizona put him well ahead of Sanders in the contest for delegates to the Democratic National Convention. Biden now has more than 1,100; Sanders, just over 800. At least 1,991 delegates are needed to clinch the nomination.
