Today Donald Trump told reporters, “I am the least racist person there is anywhere in the world.” In an op-ed, Washington Post columnist Jonathan Capehart wrote “who are we kidding? If you didn’t burst out laughing at the assertion, you don’t know what racism is.” Adding:

No matter how much he denies it, the president of the United States is a racist. We see it. We hear it. We know what racism is.

During the same q&a session with reporters, Trump also touted fake popularity with black voters saying, “The African American people have been calling the White House. They have never been so happy as what a president has done.”

MSNBC remarks: “He did not appear to be kidding. We’re honestly supposed to believe that delighted African Americans, in large numbers, have reached the White House switchboard, at which point operators have directed their calls directly to the president, who basked in their praise.”

But wait there’s more…

We’ve heard a few people say that Abraham Lincoln might disagree with that statement. We’ve also seen a lot of fact-checking on Trump’s statements about the black community today.
