In case there was any doubt in your mind as to who used a Sharpie to doctor a NOAA map that Donald Trump used as a prop, The Washington Post reports:

It was Trump who used a black Sharpie to mark up an official National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration map, which he displayed during an Oval Office briefing on Wednesday, according to a White House official who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations.

“No one else writes like that on a map with a black Sharpie,” the official said of the map.

Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson adds:

“I know it’s a minor episode, but I hope that doctored map makes its way into the Smithsonian someday. Like Washington’s uniform or Jefferson’s desk, Trump’s bogus map embodies the man”

“As smooth moves go, it was lamer than trying to forge a $100 bill by taking a Monopoly $1 bill and writing a couple of extra zeros on it.”

And Trump continues to dedicate space on his Twitter feed to the topic today.
