Blockbuster information will soon expose prominent Democrats, forcing their ouster, and allowing the GOP to take back the majority in both the Senate and the House well before the 2022 midterm elections.

No, that’s not an off-the-wall post on some fringe message board. It’s the claim of Lauren Boebert, AN ELECTED MEMBER OF THE U.S. HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. The gun-toting Republican, who routinely dabbles in misinformation and conspiracy theories, made the dubious assertion at a town-hall last Monday according to audio first published by the Delta County Independent.

Boebert’s full quote is a see-it-to-believe situation (or you can listen):

“…we all know that there was information that was declassified just a few days before President Trump left office. And I know someone who is involved in declassifying that. And this person is getting very tired of waiting on the DOJ to do something about it. And we will be hearing about it very, very soon. And this is my opinion with that information that I have, I believe we will see resignations begin to take place. And I think we can take back the majority in the House and the Senate before 2022 when all of this is ended.

Boebert has nearly 600,000 followers on Twitter. In 2020, she said she hopes “Q’ “is real,” a reference to the enigmatic figure behind the thoroughly disproved QAnon conspiracy theory. She’s since backpedaled, but her relationship with the truth is strained. She claims Donald Trump was re-elected in the fall and The Washington Post recently debunked a story she’s often told about the origins of her gun advocacy. Boebert claimed she bought a gun after a man was beaten to death outside the restaurant she owned. In fact, the coroner found that he had died of a drug overdose.

Boebert has also faced accusations that she aided and abetted the insurrectionists that stormed the U.S. Capitol and killed five people. She has insisted on her right to carry a gun into the House chamber in defiance of long-established rules.

Boebert’s recent claim that declassified information will soon take down Democrats echoes a report from misinformation purveyor The Epoch Times.

To Boebert’s credit, she seemed to allow doubt about the report, “Is it a hundred percent? I don’t know.
