America’s millions of school children, their parents, teachers and staff are being asked to take health advice from a man who’s never spent a minute in medical school. The CDC, at the strong urging of President Trump, has issued new, more White House friendly guidelines for reopening schools. The Wall Street Journal writes:

“The health agency, under pressure from the White House to support the opening of schools, added language in its recommendations stressing the importance of children returning to classrooms. The revised materials also said Covid-19 poses lower risks for children than for adults and that limiting instruction to remote learning could hurt students.

This is the same White House that believes it’s too dangerous to hold a convention, but it’s ok to send millions of teachers and students back to classrooms.
This is the same White House that favors sending kids to school despite polling showing one in 10 thinking it’s a good idea.

The once-prestigious CDC has now succumbed to the wishes of a politician, and until there’s new leadership, lost the trust of millions it was supposed to protect.
