Another day, another case of Donald Trump trying to change history. This time, he’s saying what you read and what you heard wasn’t right, what the intelligence chiefs said before Congress was somehow “distorted” and “mischaracterized by the media.” CNN’s Don Lemon said:

The president today, he’s trying to convince you to ignore what you heard with your own ears. He’s done that before, but this must be the most stunning example of them all. The most stunning one yet.”

“You can’t misquote somebody when you play their own words. And I feel really confident that none of those experienced intelligence chiefs used the word “misquoted” or ‘fake news.'”

“The president says time will prove him right, probably. And that’s what this is all about. Being right. This is a president who can’t stand being contradicted.”
