ho can forget the rambling, profanity-laced speech Kanye West made in the Oval Office while wearing a MAGA hat? That was then, this is now. While it was only a couple weeks ago that West met with Trump praising the President, it seems his tune has changed. Last night he wrote the following statements:

“My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative !!!”

This came after a series of tweets that read:

“I support creating jobs and opportunities for people who need them the most, I support prison reform, I support common-sense gun laws that will make our world safer.”

“I support those who risk their lives to serve and protect us and I support holding people who misuse their power accountable. I believe in love and compassion for people seeking asylum and parents who are fighting to protect their children from violence and war.”

“I would like to thank my family, loved ones, and community for supporting my ACTUAL beliefs and my vision for a better world.”

The BBC reports that this may have sparked his change of heart:

He has been a vocal supporter of President Trump but this decision appears to centrearound a campaign he was linked to known as Blexit.

Run by Conservative commentator Candace Owens it encourages black Americans to quit the Democratic party.

She claimed the musician had designed clothing for the campaign, something which the rapper has now denied.

West closed his thoughts out on Twitter Wednesday saying:

“I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it.”

While his tweets don’t mention Trump by name it’s clear he is done being a political pawn, at least for now.
