Many of the women who say they were victims of Harvey Weinstein are reacting to his arrest today. Actress Jessica Barth wrote on Instagram:
“I won’t give him any more exposure. Instead, I will shift the focus to the reason we are at this extraordinary moment in history. To the first voices risen, igniting the #metoomovement, to each courageous soul who has spoken their truth not knowing what consequences were to be had, you have my heart and my utmost respect and gratitude.”
Rose McGowan, one of Weinstein’s most public accusers, made a series of statements after Weinstein’s arrest. She is also giving credit to the other women who came forward.
Thank you Lucia Evans and Paz de la Huerta and all of us who said no more .@MiraSorvino Today is our day https://t.co/xpEyf3grdo

Reactions I heard today from Weinstein victims:
Tears of relief.
Tears of irreparable loss.
Outright joy.
Nausea. (One victim told me she threw up.)The common denominator: trouble sleeping last night. pic.twitter.com/7Re7GelkQC

Dear Mira, I know how hard it was for you and the other women to risk so much to come forward with the details of one of your worst experiences- but thank you thank you! Today is for you – and also for the young women who would surely have become his next victims #Justice https://t.co/89muhMY0Cj

It is long overdue for Harvey Weinstein to be required to face the bar of justice, but that day has finally come . I commend the courage of those who have come forward and who had the courage to speak their truth to a rich, powerful famous man. We look forward to a just result.
