The “Squad” Says Trump’s Comments Are Just A “Distraction”

Congress voted to condemn Donald Trump’s racist tweets and now the four freshmen congresswomen known as “The Squad” are talking to Gayle King about being at the center of it all and about how they view Donald Trump.

Rep. Ayanna Pressley: “He is only occupying the space. He does not embody the principles, the responsibility, the grace, the integrity of a true president… I’m not dishonoring the office. He does every day.”

Rep. Rashida Tlaib: “This is a distraction. This is a person that really wants to vilify, demonize not only immigrants but people of color as many of my sisters here have been talking about. It is very much a distraction, getting us unfocused.”

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: “There is no bottom to the barrel of vitriol that will be used and weaponized to stifle those who want to advance rights for all people in in the United States.”
