Good thing Donald Trump isn’t a doctor. He is making light of potential concussions several members of the military suffered in the Iranian airstrike against a U.S. facility on January 3rd. CBS News reporter Weijia Jiang brought this up during a news conference at the World Economic Forum today, I asked Trump why he said no Americans were hurt after Iran retaliated for the Solemaini strike even though 11 US service members were airlifted. He said he heard they had “headaches” but does not consider potential traumatic brain injuries to be serious compared to losing limbs.”

CNN writes that “The Defense Department and Veterans Affairs announced last year it would fund up to $50 million in new research on concussions:”

According to the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center, a majority of TBI injuries are considered mild, and are also known as concussions, but they can leave long-term effects on cognitive functions.
A mild TBI is more difficult to identify than severe TBI injuries because there might not be a visible head injury and some symptoms are similar to those of PTSD, according to the DVBIC. Individuals who sustain multiple concussions are at greater risk for further or permanent neurologic damage.
