Snow is blanketing a good part of the country today with some areas already receiving more than two feet of snow. The Weather Channel reports,Parts of the Northeast picked up more #snow from the current snowstorm than the entire 2019-20 season.”

Wind gusts are also a concern. Several cities are under a winter storm warning and many have declared a state of emergency.

Accuweather’s Dexter Henry says, “Today is the snowiest day in Central Park since January 23, 2016 when 26.6 inches fell!”

Hundreds of flights in the Northeast have been canceled and many schools have gone remote today and say they will be remote again tomorrow.

This has had ripple effects on the effort to distribute COVID vaccines in many areas. In announcing that vaccine distribution would be canceled today, New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio remarked, This is not a storm to underestimate. Take it seriously. This is a dangerous storm.”
