Donald Trump’s approval rating has nose-dived again, according to a new poll by The Washington Post and ABC News. The Post writes:

President Trump is ending a tumultuous summer with his approval rating slipping back from a July high as Americans express widespread concern about the trade war with China and a majority of voters now expect a recession within the next year, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.

Trump now has an approval rating of 38%, down from 44% over the summer. As for disapproval, that number has climbed to 56%.

And, perhaps most striking is that 6 in 10 Americans now fear a recession is coming. Trump has used the economy as a central reason for his re-election.

Donald Trump remains the only president in the modern era of polling never to reach 50% approval rating.
