While Senator Ted Cruz was fleeing Texas for some fun in the sun, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was busy planning a trip to the Lone Star State to help people in need. The Congresswoman, who has no connection to the state, has been hard at work trying to raise money for groups “working around the clock to assist houseless, hungry and senior Texans.”
The 31-year-old wrote “Charity isn’t a replacement for good governance, but we won’t turn away from helping people in need when things hit the fan. People understand that now is the time for collective action and doing what we can w/ whatever we’ve got.”
AOC is following in Beto O’Rourke’s footsteps. The former Congressman has been working around the clock this week to help people in his home state.
