By next weekend, the House of Representatives will return to Washington from their August recess, called back early by Speaker Nancy Pelosi to “save the postal service, according to Axios.

“Democratic lawmakers say they have been inundated with complaints about policy changes by Postmaster General Louis DeJoy that are disrupting the USPS ahead of an election that will see a record number of mail-in ballots. DeJoy is a former fundraiser for President Trump, who defended him this weekend.”

Constituents are said to be “furious” about mailboxes and sorting machines that are suddenly being removed or taken off line all across the country.

The New York Times reports the House will vote “on legislation that will block the Postal Service from enforcing any changes to policy that was in place at the start of the year.“

Earlier on Sunday, the House Oversight Committee called Postmaster General Louis DeJoy to testify on August 24th.
